Alabama Policy Manuals
During the year, updates and revisions were made to the four four-inch think instructional handbooks for School Law, Finance, Instructional Leadership and School Communications. These handbooks are placed in each and every city and county school superintendent's office across the State of Alabama. A two day professional development session was held at the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) executive offices using the revised Instructional Leadership manual. These works, developed by the Superintendents’ Academy faculty are used as reference manuals and teaching aids by Alabama Colleges and Universities having leadership programs in K-12 certification programs. A new instructional emphasis, Federal Programs for the School Superintendents, was piloted for adoption. The Superintendents’ Academy continues to be an official ALSDE source of authorative instructional materials for school leaders with the ALSDE linking the UASA’s web site to their site.
